I met Avery (pictured left) in mid-2022. I noticed a customer named "Avery Kung" who would order two pillows online every other row. For a while, I'd see "Avery Kung" placing orders every other row, and a saying circulated in the company: "It's Avery Kung again!" 🤣🤣
So one day, out of curiosity, I checked his email address: @mobilizephysio.com, which means he's a physical therapist. Wow! I never expected a physical therapist to appreciate my pillow so much. I guessed he probably bought it for his clients. Later, we chatted and I learned that he and his wife had a problem with buying pillows. They had bought many pillows on the market, even some from big brands that cost thousands of dollars, but none of them worked. After trying our pillow, they thought it was excellent and solved their long-standing pillow problem. So they also bought Re Pillow for their clients to use, and that's how we got to know each other.
The economy has been sluggish lately, and everyone is looking for a way out. So today I visited Avery Kung's physiotherapy center to keep warm. In the short few hours I was there, I saw how dedicated Avery Kung is to every patient. Sometimes, it's like going to see a Western doctor; some doctors don't even make eye contact with you when you go in, they just ask you a few standard questions, write them down on a piece of paper, and kick you out of the room in less than two minutes. But on the contrary, some doctors really make you feel like they listen carefully to what you have to say, they make eye contact, and they answer your questions in detail. Avery Kung gave me the feeling of the latter.
Actually, we've seen some customers who seem to have neck and shoulder pain come in to try our pillows quite often. Since that's the case, we're thinking of inviting Avery Kung and Will Lam (pictured right), another physical therapist from the center, to our shop one evening for a free, practical health seminar. It might cover common urban pain points and some muscle-relaxing exercises you can do at home, etc. It could be held after closing time, and I think there might also be a Q&A session so people can ask questions and get professional answers. I'll try them out later.
P.S. Avery Kung's center is called Mobilize Physiotherapy; he owns it, and it's located in Mong Kok. Although I don't need it myself, he's really dedicated to it. If you're interested, you can check it out.
