Origin: Why did Re Pillow Co. partner with the SAA charity?
If our customers pay attention, they will know that I have always hoped that Re Pillow Co. could try to do more in their own positions and see if we could make the world a better place through everyone's efforts.
Therefore, our earlier collaboration with the SAA (Society for the Protection of Abandoned Animals) on a used bed sheet collection campaign , collecting supplies needed by the association from our store, was one such attempt. Later, due to the SAA's warehouse being overflowing, and the discovery that someone was allegedly smuggling body smear powder and live cockroaches into bed sheets, sealing them in boxes, and sending them to us in their original boxes, although fortunately our colleagues discovered this during inspection, after assessing the risks, the SAA decided to discontinue the bed sheet collection campaign. This is because the association has a large number of cats and dogs, and if someone were to use us to lure a bunch of cockroaches in and let them roam freely, the consequences would be unimaginable.

The old bed sheet collection program was thus forced to stop. Even so, I still want to try another method to help them.
Talking with colleagues at SAA, I learned that SAA has indeed been facing financial difficulties all along. To be honest, there are a lot of abandoned cats and dogs in Hong Kong, but the number of people who can adopt them is limited. It is also difficult to get donations to support them. In addition, the association is about to relocate, so it really needs financial support.
So this time, I'm trying again! We've partnered with the SAA (Society for Abandoned Animals) to launch a collaborative bedding line, including sheets, duvet covers, and comforters. 20% of the proceeds from the sale of these bedding items will be donated directly to the SAA, regardless of cost. We hope this provides another way for more people to support the SAA's work while purchasing these animal-themed bedding products.
What is the SAA (Society for the Protection of Abandoned Animals)?
The Society for the Protection of Abandoned Animals (SAA) is a government-approved charity established in 1997. It is one of the largest animal shelters in Hong Kong, primarily providing shelter and finding new homes for abandoned animals. It also operates an animal medical center offering services such as medical care, blood donation, and sterilization. The association organizes various public education activities, and its operations are mainly sustained through public donations and charitable events.
SAA insists that even if animals have been abandoned, are disabled, are old, or are sick, the association will find them a home and care for them until the end of their lives, never killing or abandoning them.

#3 SAA Sofa Quilt
The third bedding item in the Re Pillow Co. x SAA collaboration series is the "Sofa Comforter"! This is a small, thin comforter (115 x 170cm) that is easy to carry and versatile. It can be used in the office, at home, on the sofa, in the studio, or even when traveling.
*The sofa comforter has two different designs on each side; one side has a floral print, and the other side has a large blue pattern.*
*Due to its small size, this comforter is not recommended for use as a regular nighttime sleeping blanket, as it will not cover the legs.
The Re Pillow Co. x SAA sofa comforter features a double-sided design: one side is floral, while the other side has a large blue animal relocation pattern depicting animals from the association.
This sofa comforter is perfect for taking a nap or watching a movie on the sofa on the weekend.
The sofa can also be used as a cover when resting.

#4 SAA Single/Double Air Conditioning Blanket
Finally, of course, there's the essential air-conditioned blanket, which is practical and accessible to everyone.
This animal-themed air conditioner blanket features a floral print from the SAA series on both sides. The simple beige floral design can blend into different home environments and suit different personal preferences.

This air-conditioned comforter uses a 100% tightly woven cotton outer fabric that is soft, breathable, and has a smooth, comfortable texture. The inner filling is made of thin, lightweight synthetic fibers, making the comforter even softer and machine washable.
It can be used with matching animal-themed sheets and pillowcases to create a complete set, supports SAA (Safety Assurance), and looks very nice.
The Re Pillow Co. x SAA air-conditioned comforter is available in two sizes: Single (60" x 90") and Double (80" x 90"), both standard sizes, so there's bound to be one that suits you.
How thick is an animal-themed air-conditioned blanket?
The sofa comforters and air-conditioned comforters in the Re Pillow Co. x SAA collaboration are relatively thin, suitable for Hong Kong summer use, and not too thick. Customers can refer to the comforter pictures above to understand their thickness. If customers are already using our Re Quilt 3 comforter or are considering both, please note: the Re Quilt 3 comforter is thicker because it is designed for most days of the year, with a temperature range of approximately 18°C - 25°C. The comforters in this collaboration series are thinner and more suitable for temperatures above 23°C – perfect for summer use.
Do I need to add a quilt cover to my air-conditioned quilt?
You can add a duvet cover or not. Since the duvet itself already has a printed pattern and is washable, you can use it directly. However, you can certainly add a duvet cover for protection and hygiene; this is up to you. In the design of this air-conditioned duvet, to balance the needs of using it with and without a duvet cover, we added diagonal fabric straps at the four corners for attaching the duvet cover. There are also small loops at the center of each side for easy 8-point positioning when slipping it into the duvet cover, perfectly matching the positioning positions of the " Re Cover" duvet cover and most duvet covers on the market.
If you look closely at the picture above, you can see that the air-conditioned blanket has diagonal fabric straps, which are used to position it when it is put into a duvet cover.
All comforters (sofa comforters and air-conditioned comforters) from the Re Pillow Co. x SAA collaboration series come with a drawer bag for easy storage and carrying.

All bedding in the Re Pillow Co. x SAA collaboration is made with our Gen. 2 cotton fabric, which is 100% cotton . The animal print sheets have the softness, comfort, and breathability of pure cotton, and due to their tightly woven design, they are smoother and softer against the skin than regular cotton bedding. For the comforters, to make them softer and washable, the entire comforter series uses a thin and lightweight synthetic fiber filling.
More importantly, we have pre-shrunk all our bedding, including sheets, blankets, and quilts, making them thicker and more durable. They can also be washed in a washing machine or dryer just like regular clothes , making them easy to handle.
We have also created three size charts for the Re Pillow Co. x SAA collaboration series of comforters for your reference. The comforter bags in this collaboration series are also the same size as the "Single" and "Double" comforters shown in the image below.
If this is your first time purchasing the Re Bedding new bed sheet collection, you can refer to the image below to see if it is compatible with your mattress. The following sizes allow for a 2-3CM error. For example, if your mattress is 122x183CM, you can choose 120x183CM.
Conclusion
When I first told some of my business friends that I wanted to partner with the SAA (Society for the Protection of Abandoned Animals), they laughed.
There's no other reason than that I understand these things are always thankless tasks. They might win applause, but that comes with a lot of extra costs in execution, and some people will scoff and say it's just "trying to grab attention" or "seeking applause," making it very difficult. In fact, as mentioned at the beginning, our earlier "old bed sheet collection program" also encountered difficulties in implementation, and it's really hard to solve for the time being (within the limited space of the shop, it's really difficult to ask donors to spread out and check every bed sheet collected), it's truly not easy.
The Re Pillow Co. x SAA collaboration is actually my second attempt. I wanted to see if "doing good" by supporting animal organizations, not just through adoption or donations, could be done while shopping. That's why you can see that the Re Pillow Co. x AA collaboration products are not particularly expensive; they are priced similarly to our other products. This is because I wanted to integrate donations into everyday shopping and encourage more people to buy and try them to support our project.
As I write this, it remains to be seen whether this collaboration with SAA will be successful, or whether we will encounter new problems. But I will try my best and hope that everyone will enjoy this Re Pillow Co. x SAA animal bedding collaboration series.
