Welcome to another week's journal! This week isn't going to have many updates , but I still want to share some things that are about to happen. I'm just an ordinary person, and sometimes I get really tired. But I feel that maybe some of you, somewhere far away, will one day see these journal entries. Everyone's time is precious, and I want to write this for each of you to thank you for reading my honest business notes, written every week by an ordinary person.
New bed sheets will be restocked soon.
The new bed sheets started running out of stock in various colors and sizes about two weeks ago, so we've been preparing a new batch, which we expect to restock around April 27th . Some customers have been placing orders at the store, which we've marked so they can pick them up later / have them delivered. Making new bed sheets is indeed challenging because there are different colors and sizes, and maintaining a variety of colors for each size is relatively easy for a large company, but it's difficult for me to handle it alone, as I have to manage the whole operation and many different tasks. Recently, a colleague who helped me left the company about two months ago for some reason (I'm only now able to mention this), which has increased my workload, and frankly, it's been quite tough at times. But recently, before going to bed, I was reading a book called * The Airbnb Story * . What impressed me most in the book was the story of how, during the early stages of the company, the founders had to survive on cereal and couldn't even afford milk, eating it dry or mixed with water. One of their mothers urged them to buy some milk, but the Airbnb founder said, "We plan to persevere like this. This story will become even more inspiring in the future."
Impressive. Whenever I encounter difficulties, I believe that today's pain can actually make the future story more inspiring.
Re Quilt 2 new colors
This week, three new Re Quilt 2 colors were launched in stores, and they will be available online next week. Some customers have asked why we don't release the old colors. The reason is that I want some products to stay fresh and new. Also, for example, everyone may have different color preferences, and it's difficult to launch colors that everyone wants at once. So, releasing new colors every season is actually a way for me to come up with a good way to keep things fresh.
There is always a crisis and an opportunity.
A friend who is also in business recently told me that every crisis in the world presents both opportunities and challenges; the key is to seize them, find opportunities, and work hard. I completely agree with this. Every era inevitably presents problems that seem insurmountable at the time. For example, a few years ago, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many predicted the collapse of all businesses and an economic depression, but we weathered it. Now, some say Hong Kong's retail industry is finished, Hong Kong's international standing is damaged, and Hong Kong residents are spending their money in the mainland, suggesting that Hong Kong businesses are doomed. Undeniably, there's some truth to these claims, but the reality is that we must continue to strive. We shouldn't give up just because adversity seems too difficult. Every era presents its own challenges, which must be faced and resolved. The best solution is to confront them head-on.
