Hello everyone, welcome to the latest weekly journal! This week I mainly did two things: 1. Finalize the new bed sheets 2. Donate blankets.

Finalize the new bed sheet sample.

Before I begin, I'd like to talk about what I feel I've learned the most in the last two years.

In 2022, I learned the fundamentals of business management, including calculating income, calculating the proportion of each expense, dealing with shopping malls and department stores, opening a shop, doing renovations, regularly calculating the company's operating situation, making all daily operating procedures as smooth as possible, ensuring sufficient funds for payroll, and learning to balance all aspects of a business, ensuring everything is stable and developing healthily... These are all the things I learned in 2022.

In the first half of 2023, when everything was somewhat settled, what I learned most was how to make a product, from raw material supply to finished product manufacturing. This involves many things: quality management of various materials, time management for each production stage, how to handle problems, where the difficulties in the production process lie, and understanding what the stakeholders and partners involved in the production process want most, what difficulties they face, and what I can offer in return. Because if I can understand what the other party needs while achieving my goals, it will be much better for the whole thing. For example, the fabric for Re Pillow 3 (the fabric printed with RPC.) was produced in cooperation with a world-class fabric factory in Turkey. During discussions, everyone tried their best to accommodate each other's needs. At Re Quilt 2, I learned more about production processes, time management, and how to create a well-balanced product. Let me explain: product manufacturing is actually a game of balancing many things: product quality, production costs (which directly affect the price consumers pay), product functionality, the difficulty of production, the feasibility of reproducible production, and so on. This requires time and effort to explore and research. Additionally, in terms of design, preparation is crucial; the design must be practically ready for product production. Making a single test product is easy, but replicating it a thousand times with the same quality and standards requires standardized processes and careful planning of how to streamline the entire production process.

This week I went to work on the final sample of the new Re Bedding sheets. Actually, this was a practical opportunity to test how much I've learned this year. I feel that I've improved a lot compared to when I first made the Re Quilt 2 sheets. I have a deeper understanding of product manufacturing, and I also know more about various fabrics and sewing techniques.

Super excited for this.

Donating Blankets Campaign

Photo: We carried some blankets upstairs, sweated profusely, but still took a group photo as a souvenir.

This week we also donated about 70 thick winter blankets to the Industrial Gospel Fellowship ( https://www.hkief.org.hk ). This organization visits underprivileged families to understand their needs and distribute supplies to them. Winter is approaching, so we did a little something to help others. To be honest, it's not a large sum, but it's still a small gesture. We've decided not to advertise it on the website or elsewhere; just a small thing like this will suffice in our weekly journal where no one will see it.

A funny story: Ben helped me carry the items upstairs that day. The staff probably thought we were just movers. They said they would contact Ben from Re Pillow Co. to confirm that the blankets had been received. Then, while Ben was carrying the items, he said in a very arrogant way, "I am Ben."
