Nearly two weeks into December, As I write this, the weather still doesn't seem to have turned cold, which has slowed down the sales of our Re Fleece. Frankly, if it weren't cold, how could we use winter blankets? Even someone as sensitive to the cold as me slept with a Re Quilt 2 last night, so we can't complain. We'll continue to do our best and prepare Re Pillow Co. for global climate change, economic downturns, and a decline in the retail industry. Just like a flight attendant shouting "Brace, Brace!" during a safety demonstration, we need to be prepared to protect the company and our colleagues.

Re Quilt Winter 2

Besides Re Fleece, I also have another product in mind: Re Quilt Winter 2 (the previous generation was called Re Quilt 15). The previous generation was called Re Quilt 15, meaning it was suitable for use in environments around 15 degrees Celsius. At the time, I hadn't considered the possibility of a second generation, hence the name change. The new generation couldn't simply be called Re Quilt 15 2; it felt too cumbersome, with too many numbers and difficult to understand. So, I changed the name to Re Quilt Winter, and since it's the second generation, it's called Re Quilt Winter 2.

Some people told me I should expand my product line rapidly, quickly stock different products, and sell them all under the Re Pillow Co. label. However, I personally prefer to specialize in certain categories, becoming an expert in those categories and perfecting my products, rather than launching a large number of products and selling them. Therefore, Re Pillow Co. doesn't offer a series of pillows like "Antibacterial Waterproof Pillow," "All-Round Health Pillow," or "Skin Care Bamboo Charcoal Pillow." Instead, we combine the best elements into a single product and update it generation after generation, constantly refining the details. So, whenever you buy our products, you'll know they are our best offerings. The upcoming Re Quilt Winter 2 is no exception. It's an improvement on the success of Re Quilt 15, making it even better, rather than starting from scratch every time we release a new product. There are already many generic, similar products in the world. Of course, they have their own market, their own suitable audience, and their own value. But sometimes I am inspired by people like Elon Musk (although I am actually nothing, I can't even afford a Tesla... On a side note, I finished reading Walter Issaccson's biography of him last month, which is well worth reading). I see that his decisions and goals are ambitious, and he really wants to think about the future of mankind and improve people's lives. Therefore, I also hope that I can do this (on a very small scale) and silently support you in your homes every day through Re Pillow Co. products, improving the lives of Hong Kong people.

Re Quilt Winter 2 is tentatively scheduled for release on December 15th.

Google Translate English website

You might have noticed the new language switching function in the bottom right corner of the Re Pillow Co. website while reading this blog post. Creating an English website has always been a dream of mine. There was a time when this English website actually existed; I wrote it word for word. However, due to an overwhelming amount of work and the inability to manage updates on both websites simultaneously, I cancelled it about a year ago, around June 2022. Since then, the website has no English version. But it has remained on my to-do list. Over the past year, I've gradually realized that it would be difficult to fully translate the entire website into English on my own, given the many daily tasks involved. Of course, I still want to create a perfect English website, but the past year's work has taught me that translating word for word and constantly keeping both websites updated simultaneously is impractical, at least not for me alone. My time should be focused on the product itself, ensuring users truly appreciate its quality. Therefore, this week I decided to create an English version of the website using Google Translate. The system will automatically translate the website, and I only need to update the Chinese website as usual; the English version will automatically follow. Recently, some customers have requested an English version to recommend to their friends. This update should be useful.

Although I found Google Translate to be full of errors, I couldn't fix it, so I just left it to it.

Interview

Finally, this week I also accepted an invitation from a student in the Department of Communication at CUHK to do a profile interview. During the interview, I talked about my entire entrepreneurial journey, my upbringing, etc., which I'm using as homework for her, similar to what a professor would do. Thank you for the invitation. She said that while researching, she read my weekly journal and suddenly felt completely exposed, realizing that even though I wrote it, I didn't expect anyone to read it. Frankly speaking, people tend to focus more on their own affairs. Indeed, everyone has their own life and their own difficulties. Those who come to Re Pillow Co. are probably buying products for personal use or as gifts. Reading product descriptions, user reviews, store addresses, etc., is enough; who has time to read my weekly journal? So I'm still very grateful to know that someone is watching from somewhere far away. I promise everyone reading this, I will continue to work hard.
