Filming with a focus on inventory management
Hello everyone, welcome to this week's journal. Last week, I wrote about inventory management. After writing it, I thought many customers might be interested in the content, since it touched on some of the problems and difficulties faced by small product manufacturing companies. I thought it would be great to make a short video and post it on Re Pilow Co.'s social media platforms to reach more interested people. So, I did this in the factory on Sunday night, and indeed, some people liked it quite a bit, even sending messages saying they learned something new, which really surprised and delighted me. Below, I'll post the video for everyone to see.
righteous kung fu
I've been seriously running a business full-time for almost two years now, coinciding with an economic downturn. But in some ways, this might be a good thing, because I'm learning the most "respectable skills"—that running a business requires careful planning and cannot be taken lightly. Unlike some companies that squander money or are poor at balancing income and expenses during economic booms, I can't afford to be careless. Because I'm learning these "respectable skills," although my work is currently more demanding, I believe this will pave the way for future success, and one day, when the economy improves, work will be easier. I think it's a double-edged sword for a beginner to learn these "respectable skills" from the start. The advantage is that you face one challenge after another from the beginning, each one you have to confront alone, forcing you to grow at a young age because a slight misstep can lead to disaster. The disadvantage is that it's incredibly demanding. Although I don't want to say this, sometimes when I see friends my age or classmates who graduated with me, I feel that a regular job might actually be more comfortable. This week has actually been quite tough, and I'm starting to wonder why it has to be this way. But that's just talk. I believe it's all part of the training, and it will help me absorb experience and knowledge as soon as possible, making the road ahead easier.
Re Pillow Co.'s style
In the past few months, we have also been contacted by other marketing agencies, who wanted to take over our online platform and advertising, "corporate" the whole thing, and make more and more money. But I don't think they read my journal. In fact, we don't have the money to hire someone to take over advertising right now, so I was embarrassed to decline. This has also given our advertising a haphazard style.
Cable TV News Interview
This week, Cable TV News interviewed us because, although we stopped making kapok pillows about a year ago, we are now the last pillow-making factory in Hong Kong. The interview mainly focused on my uncle explaining the history of kapok pillows in Hong Kong, how kapok pillows were gradually phased out, and the pillow-making process in Hong Kong. The entire segment will not contain any commercials; it will be purely about history. The interview should air around the end of March and will also be uploaded to YouTube. I will share the segment in a future weekly blog post.
Conclusion
As mentioned above, this week has been a bit tough, so I'll stop here. It's suddenly gotten cold recently, so please take care to keep warm and stay healthy. The world is changing fast, so get plenty of rest and keep working and living well.
