Making a video to seriously discuss inventory management
Hello everyone, welcome to this week's journal. Last week, I wrote about inventory management in my journal. After writing it, I thought that many customers might be interested in the content, because it talks about some of the difficulties faced by small product companies. So, I decided to turn the content into a short video, a few minutes long, and put it on Re Pillow Co.'s social media platforms, so that more interested people could see it. Therefore, on Sunday evening, I did this at the factory, and indeed some people really liked it, and even sent messages saying they learned new things, which genuinely surprised me. I've posted the video below for everyone to watch.
The Right Way to Do Business
I have been seriously working full-time in business for almost two years now, and I happened to encounter an economic downturn. But in a way, perhaps it's a good thing, because I'm learning the "right way to do business," which means operating with extreme caution, never letting my guard down. It's not like during good economic times when some companies might be extravagant or not know how to balance their income and expenses. Because I am now learning the "right way to do business," although work is harder now, I believe that the path ahead will become wider and wider. One day, when the economy improves, work will become much easier. I think there are both pros and cons for a beginner to learn this "right way to do business" from the start. The good part is that you begin with one challenge after another, and you have to face each one alone, forcing you to grow and mature at a young age, because a slight misstep can send you falling into a deep pit. The downside is that it's difficult. Although I don't want to say these things, sometimes I see friends of my age / classmates who graduated with me, and I feel that perhaps living a more comfortable life by simply working a regular job might be better. This week has been very tough, and I sometimes wonder why I have to go through this. But these are just words; I believe all of this is part of my training, and it will help me gain experience and knowledge sooner, making the road ahead easier to navigate.
Re Pillow Co.'s Style
In recent months, we have also been contacted by various marketing agencies, generally hoping to take over our online platforms and promotion, to "corporatize" the whole thing and make more and more money. But I think they probably haven't read my journal. To be honest, we currently don't have the funds to hire people to handle promotions, so I feel bad about having to decline. This has also led to our promotions having their own chaotic style.
Cable TV News Interview
This week, Cable TV News came to interview us because, although we stopped making Kapok pillows about a year ago, we are still the last pillow factory in Hong Kong. The news interview mainly involved my uncle explaining the history of Kapok pillows and pillows in Hong Kong, how Kapok pillows were gradually phased out, and the pillow-making processes in Hong Kong. The entire segment will not contain any commercial advertising; it will simply discuss history. The interview is expected to air around the end of March and will also be available on YouTube. I will share the video in a future journal.
Conclusion
As mentioned above, this week has been a bit tough. I'll end my writing here. The weather has suddenly turned cold recently, so everyone please stay warm and take care of yourselves. The world is changing rapidly; keep your spirits up, and work and live diligently.
