The lecture following Re Pillow Co.'s closure was successfully completed.
The first thing this week was the successful completion of our first (and possibly last) "post-closure seminar." On Thursday ( May 23 ), the Mobilize Physio team of physiotherapists came to our iSQUARE store in Tsim Sha Tsui to give a health seminar on common urban aches and pains, as well as self-diagnosis and home-based relaxation exercises. Holding events in the store is something I've always wanted to do. After all, the rent has already been paid, and the space is there. As long as it doesn't affect daily operations, I hope to provide more value to everyone. Because I really think about how life is finite; there's nothing we can take with us, and nothing we can leave behind. If, in the span of my decades of life, I, an ordinary person, can accomplish something that gives others living through the same period a pleasant and unforgettable memory, or something of value, then that would be enough. It would give meaning to my life, and I would consider it well spent. I would also like to thank Mobilize Physio for their support of this project.
Business cooperation
Sometimes things don't go as planned. Lately, I've had more opportunities to discuss business with different companies (of various types). But sometimes, even with the best efforts, some collaborations simply can't be realized, and learning to say no isn't always easy. A few years ago, many people approached me hoping to collaborate, and I basically refused unless I was very interested, because I felt it wasn't necessary; I could manage on my own. But recently, my mindset has changed. Perhaps some collaborations are good, as long as the other party is honest, serious, and upright, and I feel we can work together; we can actually discuss things. However, even so, sometimes after discussing things and getting to know each other better, we find that ultimately, we might not be able to go the distance, which is very heartbreaking. This week, there was exactly such a case . Although we said "business is business" and that the cooperation "does not include having children," when this situation actually occurred, and I really admired the other party, we found that in the end, we might not be able to make it work. Now, in 2024 , I feel a little disappointed.
At work, many things inevitably affect my emotions the first time they happen, but after encountering them a few more times, it's fine. Perhaps if I encounter them again in the future, I won't hold a grudge. Looking back now, I realize that many difficulties or situations have become easier to handle through experience. Of course, the best scenario is to learn how to handle things without having to go through it all yourself. Because that way, you progress much faster. In this aspect, I'm still learning from books and absorbing the experience of senior colleagues.
