Welcome to this week's journal! There were many different things and developments this week, but it was a bit busy, so I'll just give a brief overview here.

New website design

Over the past week or so, some of our long-time customers may have noticed that the website has been updated. The overall operation of the website remains the same, but the appearance has been updated. The animation effect when opening the Main Menu on a mobile phone is indeed quite good. The reason for the change is that I felt the previous website wasn't visually appealing enough; it could be improved to resemble a modern, attractive brand. Or, to put it simply, it's my own touch.

However, not making changes was fine, but making changes caused many problems. Some customers couldn't place orders, some couldn't pay at checkout due to various pop-up windows, and some added products to their carts only to find the carts empty. All of this caused me a lot of headaches and kept me extremely busy. Understanding why each situation occurred, what machine or system the customer was using, and why the problem occurred was actually quite complex. Only by fully understanding the information could I find a solution. But if a customer was already in a bad mood because of a problem, asking them too many questions might make them impatient or even irritable. They came to buy something, not to help solve website problems. Therefore, in these situations, I would try to find a way to place the order for the customer as quickly as possible, and then, based on my understanding, find the problem, remove some code, and try to solve it one by one.

Textile school classes, product improvement

This week I also attended classes at the Kowloon Bay Garment Training Council. There's profound knowledge in every field, and it's something you can continuously explore and learn. I firmly believe that improving my skills at Re Pillow Co. is key. Many companies may rise to prominence quickly but soon fail to compete, partly because of insufficient technology. If your technical level is only similar to other companies, the products you produce will also be similar. In that case, everyone will just be competing on price or celebrity endorsements, which is meaningless and won't help consumers improve their lives or drive the overall industry forward, because everyone will remain at the same technical level. Someone has to take the extra step. Although it's difficult and arduous, someone has to try doing something different to drive the industry forward. Re Pillow Co. has always been doing this kind of thing, starting with making an adjustable pillow. You could say the concept was simple and not much of an invention, but the most important thing is that someone stepped forward and did this kind of thing, and then moved on to new bed sheets... We've always been quietly doing this kind of thing. I'm pursuing further studies at the Garment Industry Training Council because I want to improve our products further. Sometimes, to do something well, you need more than just an idea; you also need a lot of knowledge in that area to figure out how to do it. You can expect our products to continue to improve.

The possibility of adding one more store

Also, I mentioned in my weekly journal a few weeks ago that I'd like to gradually and quietly expand the business, one aspect of which is the possibility of adding another store. I believe it will come to fruition. I'll keep the location a secret for now! I'll talk about it later.
