As we approach the end of 2024 , I've encountered different people and colleagues this year. Although it seems like I've done a lot, there are also many grievances and difficulties that I can't express. But talking about some unhappy things can't change the facts. As the year draws to a close, even though I'm just an ordinary person, I want to write a little about what I've learned this year. If you find it helpful or useful, that's great. I hope it can help everyone.
1. Sometimes we can't see the whole picture, so try to avoid jumping to conclusions too quickly. For example, if you see a young person smoking in a park, most people might think, "Wow! That's awful." But what we might not know is that they used to be a drug addict, and now they've switched to smoking, trying to gradually wean themselves off drugs ... and eventually, they want to quit smoking altogether. They're actually making progress; it just takes time and a process. If possible, try not to be so quick to judge people, because there might be many things we don't know about and their difficulties. Similarly, everyone faces their own difficulties and problems. Sometimes, being more tolerant can lead to different perspectives.
2. Doing your best doesn't guarantee a reward, and even if you try your hardest, not everyone will appreciate it. If that's the case, I want to say two things: First, I believe in you and I support you. If you're unhappy or have something on your mind, talk to someone instead of keeping it to yourself. If you don't mind, you can message Re Pillow . We may not know each other, but I will reply and support you. If I'm busy or in a meeting, I will reply later. Don't keep your unhappiness to yourself or dwell on it. Second, realistically, you need to understand that this is unavoidable; everyone has to go through this process. Just keep your head down, keep working hard, and hope to achieve results. One day, others will understand your difficulties.
3. Just because others haven't tried or failed on a path doesn't mean you can't. Every era has a different background and environment, and your abilities may differ from those of people in the past. They may have had their methods, but that doesn't mean your new methods won't work . Therefore, I don't think they should criticize you; you should believe in yourself. Just because others couldn't do it before doesn't mean you can't. More importantly, you may not be able to do it now, but that doesn't mean you won't be able to in the future, because you will improve and progress. Keep going!
4. No matter how busy you are, remember the people around you and make time for them. And when you're with them, don't think about your work. Love is something special; it needs to be cherished in time. If you miss it, lose it, or don't make up for it, it may be too late. I think everyone understands this, so there's no need to explain further.
The above are some of my takeaways from 2024. I'd be happy if they were helpful or even a little inspiring. The second point is genuine. Although I'm not a professional counselor, and sometimes I might be busy with work or meetings and unable to reply quickly, if you're truly unhappy and have no one to talk to, feel free to contact me. I'll reply and support you. Even though we don't know each other, we live in the same Hong Kong, so mutual support is good. I know some people find my 2024 takeaways strange, but I mean it sincerely. I hope this helps you.
