I'm writing this weekly journal on Thursday, August 20th, two days after the announcement of the new base frame. I believe everyone has seen all the details about the new base frame online, so I won't repeat them here. However, I'll attach the video first:
The new base has been improved in all aspects. I think the biggest improvements are in easier installation, a tighter fit, and the waterproofing layer. In fact, this was necessary if we want the Re Bedding to continue long-term. Also, I believe this base frame update solves the biggest problem of how to install the base frame for the Re Bedding. I also want to mention that I feel I've improved over the past few years in handling product launches. At least now I'm better at time management; I'm no longer crazy busy until late at night the evening before a launch. Having experience has made things better.
Sometimes I feel really tired, but I guess that's just how work is? It seems like as soon as one thing is done, another thing comes up that needs to be done, with little room to stop and rest. I don't know if this is a problem of being an entrepreneur, or if it's a problem with my poor control in delegating work, or if it's just how all work is? But it feels like I never get to rest; most days, I have to deal with work after getting home. And it's not like those bosses you see who fly around to conferences, acting like international businessmen, nor do I get many good holidays. Instead, it's a lot of "problem-solving," "problem-solving." I remember around 2022 or 2023, I had a period where the time between getting off work at 7 PM and going to bed at 10 PM was my own. But that's gone now. It's really "at this age, don't have so many illusions"... no need to do anything... So sometimes I don't understand, is it my problem or what? But it seems like other people, other "bosses," have much better lives. They just have meetings and listen to reports all day. I'm hands-on solving problems every day. I guess it's because my business is too small and hasn't scaled up yet. However, I'm very grateful for the support of my customers, and when they find the products useful, they encourage me. So this silly pig of mine continues to work hard.
But of course, if you ask me if I feel hopeless, I don't think so. Work has its ups and downs; there are times of loss, fatigue, and when you can't see what's ahead, but eventually, things will gradually get better. In the past, when I heard people say they were tired and needed a break, "rest when you're tired," or "rest is for going further," I always thought they were making excuses. I believed you just had to do it and stop talking so much. But maybe it is necessary? After resting, perhaps you can make better decisions. Sometimes a good decision can help you for a very long time. Getting the big picture right is very important; minor mistakes in between can be resolved and tolerated if the overall direction is correct. Actually, quite a few customers have mentioned that I need to rest (a quick thank you to everyone for that), but I think after politely thanking them, I haven't really taken it to heart because it didn't feel like the right time. But I think since reading that book, Poor Charlie, that I mentioned in last week's journal, some things have changed. It might not be about constantly working; the right direction and method are also very important. Now, this doesn't mean not working hard, because without effort, you'll have even less, but in addition to effort, the method and direction must be correct. Taking ten more minutes to think things through before acting is better than rushing in without thinking, making mistakes, and then having to go back and correct them.
