#041 Re Quilt 2 (12/03/2023)

After months of design, back-and-forth revisions, adding features, testing materials, and SGS testing, I believe the Re Quilt 2, which I call RQ 2.0, should be officially launched in April (I don't know if it will be available in early April). This product is not just an ordinary product; I think it marks a new chapter for our Re Pillow Co. products in many ways. Many of our previous products were more like handicrafts, more "DIY," and compared to this product, I don't think they were truly professional or as sophisticated. This RQ 2.0 is The Beginning of the Next Phrase of Re Pillow Co. Anyway, not many people read my weekly journal, so I'll just write it here:

1. A completely unprecedented innovative design: a quilt cover! What makes it so special? This quilt cover is truly different from the first one. The first quilt cover, Re Quilt, was a very high-quality and normal quilt cover, which can be said to be a good starting point. But this time, it achieves something very innovative. I even think that the level of innovation of this RQ 2.0 is better than our most famous Re Pillow, and it's a design that I think people will say "Wow" when they see it.
2. To establish Re Pillow Co. as a quality, innovative, local, and passionate bedding brand : This product took a lot of time to develop, even more than the previous Re Quilt Re Pillowcase. The design process was incredibly difficult because others expected us to work faster, thinking we hadn't come up with anything new in a while! But because of this, the pressure to do even better was immense, lest people think, "Oh! It's all the same," resulting in slower progress and a push for perfectionism, leading to a delayed launch. Anyway, it's nearing completion and will be launched soon. I hope we won't disappoint and will help build the image of Re Pillow Co. Previously, people might only know us for our pillows. Now, we have another product to reference, allowing people to see what this brand does, the quality, and the design. We have another reference point.
3. Expanding beyond pillows to establish a complete bedding line : I want to shed the image of only selling pillows. Comforters are also one of our main products, and we're gradually building a complete product line. People usually don't remember the "Co." when they hear our brand name, Re Pillow Co., even though we no longer write "Pillow Co." in the logo at the top of our website, just a square "Re." Everyone calls us Re Pillow. I hope that after this comforter is launched, some people will appreciate our other products, because currently most people only buy pillows, and buying one that lasts a long time isn't the most stable way to operate a business. I hope that other products will be appreciated by others as soon as possible, providing the company with another source of income and reducing the risk of us going bankrupt.

This Monday, I went to a factory in mainland China to check on the Re Quilt 2. Indeed, due to geographical limitations, this Re Quilt 2, like the previous one, can only be manufactured in mainland China, not Hong Kong. I understand that some people really want their quilts to be made in Hong Kong; I've been struggling with this for a long time. If quilts are made in Hong Kong, we'll continue to do small-scale handmade work, because handmade quilts have a lower quality than those made with large machines in mainland China, and the final price will be much higher… Considering the quality, the price really isn't reasonable. Sigh, land in Hong Kong is just too expensive, sometimes stifling many of these possibilities. Of course, it's reasonable to reserve Hong Kong land for higher-value-added projects.
