#083 New Year's Red Envelope (31/12/2023)

It 's already been a week! This week seems shorter because Monday is Christmas Day, December 25th .

First of all, this week I went back to work on product -related matters, including working on new colors for the Re Quilt 2 (the one suitable for summer and most days of the year) and restocking last year's best-selling blue . I also have plans to remake the Re Pillowcase 2 into mini and XL versions, as well as some new products for next year that I can't reveal yet. I'm starting to feel that things should be easier next year ( 2024 ) than this year ( 2023 ). I feel like I have more experience in everything, and I hope everything goes smoothly. 2023 was really tough, and I struggled quite a bit.

I constantly felt like I was chasing after something, and that I could never get everything done. The whole year was tough and exhausting until November and December , when things started to improve. I began to feel more in control and able to manage my work pace. I can't predict what will happen next year, so I can only keep working hard.

I recently had dinner with several high school friends, and they all talked about work. Basically, sometimes you do (note, "did," not "did well") your part , you get the job done, then pass it on to the next person, and at the end of the day you say " Bye guys! See you next year ," and that's it. Once the task is passed on, you're no longer responsible and don't have to worry about it anymore. Thinking about it, it's really hard to do that at Re Pillow Co. There are only a few people; if you don't do it, no one else will. Fortunately, I sometimes find that my colleagues are very considerate of the company, although I don't say it outright, but I'm actually quite comforted and grateful to know it. Of course, hearing my high school friends say this, I couldn't help but feel envious. They have good, stable incomes and don't have to worry about the company's future. I really want to not only do a good job with Re Pillow Co. , but also, when Re Pillow Co. does well, help the family business "Wai Kee" to do even better. I know it takes time; to do well and change the status quo takes time, and we can't rush it. I hope I can achieve that.

I've always wanted to design red envelopes, and I've been getting some hand marks lately, so I decided to put it into practice this year.
